Melbourne Showgrounds
Melbourne Showgrounds is the home of the annual Royal Melbourne Show, as well as major exhibitions, trade shows, and music concerts, including the Supanova Pop Culture Expo, the Caravan & Camping Touring Supershow and MotoExpo.
Getting there is easy from Dragon Village Ascot Vale, only 9 minutes of walk.
Ascot Vale Station
Ascot Vale station is only 14 minutes walking away from Dragon Village Ascot Vale, it is located on the Craigieburn line.
As a host station, it is only staffed during the morning peak hours. Other times there will be no staff around. It still has a customer service hub for ticketing and timetabling services.
Flemington Racecourse
Just next door to the Melbourne Showgrounds, Flemington Racecourse is the best-known and oldest continuing metropolitan racecourse in Australia.
A National Heritage listed site, the first race meeting held here took place on rough river flats beside the Maribyrnong River in March 1840, when Melbourne was barely five years old.
Melbourne Zoo (Royal Park)
Also named as The Royal Melbourne Zoological Gardens, it is located in the Royal Park, contains more than 320 animal species from Australia and around the world. It is accessible via Royal Park station on the Upfield railway line, and is also accessible via tram routes 58 and 19. Around 30 minutes away by public transport from Dragon Village Ascot Vale.
